Peter Obi Meets Goodluck Jonathan for Support Strategy

Peter Obi, the presidential aspirant, recently met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in a closed-door meeting aimed at securing support for his candidacy. Yunusa Tanko, Obi's former campaign spokesman and national coordinator of the Obidi Movement Worldwide, explained that the visit was part of ongoing consultations to deepen support for Obi's presidential ambitions.

Tanko expressed confidence that Jonathan's support would significantly enhance Obi's chances. The meeting aligns with Obi's strategy to engage with various leaders, including Prof.

Ango Abdullahi, to build a broad national support base. When asked about the visit's context, Tanko noted it was part of a wider effort to establish a consensus candidate amid ongoing opposition discussions.

Obi's media spokesman, Ibrahim Umar, reiterated this position, highlighting that Obi had previously met with other former leaders, including Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida, as part of his nationwide consultations.
