Nigerian Soldiers and Aircraft Detained in Burkina Faso Yet to be Released - Foreign Affairs Ministry Confirms

The Nigerian Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed that 11 Nigerian Air Force personnel and a C-130 aircraft detained in Burkina Faso have not been released. The incident occurred after the aircraft made an emergency landing in Burkina Faso amid airspace violation allegations.

The host country, part of the Confederation of Sahel States, accused Nigeria of violating its airspace. The ministry is engaged in diplomatic discussions to secure the release of the detained military personnel and aircraft.
