Atiku Abubakar Criticizes Airstrike on Jilli Market

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, expressed grave concern over an airstrike conducted by the Nigerian Air Force that targeted Jilli Market, located along the Borno-Yobe border. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, reportedly resulted in the deaths of numerous traders and left several others injured.

Atiku described the deaths of innocent Nigerians as tragic and lamented the collateral damage that continues to occur in security operations meant to protect citizens from terrorist threats. He urged the Nigerian government to uphold its duty to protect its citizens and called for an urgent review of the security operations.

The airstrike took place in the Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State and the Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced in the region regarding security and safety.
