Dikko To Declare Asaba 2025 9th NYG Open

Mallam Shehu Dikko, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, is set to declare the Asaba 2025 9th National Youth Games open. The event will feature top music stars, traditional dancers, and entertainers to engage athletes and spectators during the opening ceremony at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.

This will be the third time Delta State hosts the NYG, with the 9th edition scheduled to run from August 26 to September 6. The exact number of athletes and officials participating is yet to be disclosed, but expectations are high that it will surpass the previous edition.

The LOC chairman, Festus Ohwojero, emphasized the importance of building a solid foundation for sports and youth development through the Games. Governor Elder Sheriff Oborevwori has directed the LOC to ensure a successful and memorable event, with preparations underway for accommodation, feeding, transportation, and other logistics.

Team Delta is expected to release its official contingent of 600 athletes over.
