Athletes, officials storm Asaba for National Youth Games

Athletes and officials have gathered in Asaba for the National Youth Games for the third consecutive year, with Delta hosting the event for the first time. The Games, which started on August 21 and ended on August 24, saw a delegation registration meeting taking place on August 26 and 27, with the opening ceremony scheduled for Friday, August 29.

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, is expected to declare the 9th NYG open on behalf of President Bola Tinubu. Team Delta has maintained the top position in the medal table since the Games began.

The event aims to bring together young talent from across the country to compete for national recognition in a friendly atmosphere. The National Sports Commission has reiterated its commitment to showcasing Nigeria's next generation of sports stars and promoting unity, discipline, and excellence in sports.
