Cultural Diplomacy Advocated for Peace in Nigeria

Diplomats and stakeholders gathered in Lagos for the "Goge Africa Cultural Dialogue Diplomacy Series," aimed at promoting peace through cultural diplomacy. The event, hosted by Isaac Mose and Nneka Mose in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) and the Centre for Black African Civilisation (CBAAC), highlighted the role of cultural diplomacy in enhancing international partnerships.

Prof. Eghosa Emmanuel Osagha delivered a welcome address, emphasizing the significance of cultural narratives and soft power in a rapidly globalizing world. He noted that cultural diplomacy is essential for building identity and exerting influence beyond traditional political and economic means.

The event showcased Nigeria's rich cultural heritage, featuring artifacts and performances, and underscored the potential of cultural tourism and creative industries to drive sustainable growth. Dr. Aisha Adamu Augi and Dr. Ola Awakan also spoke on the importance of cultural assets in diplomacy and economic development, while Obi Asika represented the National Council for Arts and Culture, reinforcing the need for cultural preservation and promotion.
