Tabuko Demands Transparency on Beta Edu's Corruption Case

Kennedi Tabuko, a public affairs analyst, has called on the Nigerian Presidency, led by President Bola Tinubu, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to make public the outcome of the corruption case against Beta Edu, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs. Tabuko's demand was articulated in a statement on Thursday, recalling that Edu was dismissed from her ministerial position due to allegations involving a scandal worth N585 billion.

Despite the ongoing investigation by the EFCC, the outcome has not been disclosed. Tabuko expressed concern over the implications of Edu's public appearances, particularly in relation to First Lady Remi Tinubu, warning that allowing her to interact publicly with someone facing corruption charges could reflect poorly on the government.

He urged that until the case against Edu is resolved, the First Lady should refrain from public engagements with her. Tabuko warned that if the EFCC does not disclose the findings within five days, there may be public demands for accountability.
