Bode George Critiques Saraki Over Wike Leadership Claim

Bode George, a former deputy national chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), criticized former Senate President Bukola Saraki for calling Nyesom Wike his national leader during a party convention held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. This convention was organized by a faction loyal to Wike amidst a leadership crisis within the PDP, which has led to the emergence of a parallel faction.

George belongs to a rival faction led by Tanimu Turaki, whose national working committee held a convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, last November. A recent court appeal nullified the convention, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) does not recognize this development, complicating the leadership tussle within the party.

In an interview with the Daily Independent, George condemned Saraki's decision to conduct the event and accused him of prioritizing personal interests over democratic principles, questioning Saraki's political background and integrity.
