Nigerian Doctors Condemn Assault on Colleague, Demand Compensation and Increased Security

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) strongly condemns the brutal physical attack on Dr. Adeniyi Duti, a member at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Owo, demanding compensation for the pain and trauma he endured.

The assault, allegedly by a group of individuals related to a surgical patient, is described as a direct assault on the medical profession and the healthcare system. NARD warns that such violence against doctors discharging their duties is unacceptable and vows to no longer tolerate such incidents.

They demand full compensation for Dr. Duti's suffering, comprehensive security upgrades at FMC Owo, and the apprehension and prosecution of those involved in the assault.

NARD emphasizes the need to protect its members and uphold the sanctity of medical practice in Nigeria.
