Tinubu's Spokesperson Denies Plans for Long-Term Presidency Amid Criticism

Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga criticized former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai for suggesting that opposition leader Bola Tinubu aims to become a life president beyond 2031. Onanuga defended Tinubu, stating that his mission is to defeat the incumbent Nigerian leader in the 2027 election.

He emphasized that the allegation of Tinubu seeking to be a life president was unfounded. Onanuga's remarks were made in response to El-Rufai's comments during a meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The spokesperson highlighted Tinubu's commitment to democratic principles and dismissed claims of a long-term presidency ambition.
