DSS Arrests Teacher for Threatening Peter Obi's Safety

The Department of State Services (DSS) apprehended a 26-year-old teacher named Udem Stephen for allegedly claiming responsibility for an attack on Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, during an event at the African Democratic Congress secretariat in Benin, Edo State. Following the incident, where armed men fired gunshots, Stephen posted threats on his X account, warning Obi of further attacks.

The DSS launched a covert investigation immediately after the threats were issued, deploying forensic analysis to track the suspect. Stephen, who teaches at Jessica High School in Eliozu, located in the Obio Akpor Local Government Area of River State, is currently in custody and is expected to be charged in court.

The investigation aims to ensure the safety of Obi and address the threats made against him.
