D’Tigress Unveils 21-Player Roster for US Tour

D’Tigress, Nigeria's national women's basketball team, has named a 21-player squad for their upcoming training camp and exhibition tour in the United States, commencing on April 18. This camp is designed to sharpen tactics in preparation for high-profile friendlies against WNBA teams, including the Los Angeles Sparks on April 25, Minnesota Lynx on April 27, and Indiana Fever on May 2.

Notably, the team will be without captain Ami Okonkwo due to club commitments, and Elizabeth Balogun and Murjanatu Musa are also unavailable. The roster features established players and emerging prospects, including Oluchi Okananwa, who has recently pledged her commitment to the national team, and 18-year-old Daniel Osho, who is set to make her senior debut.

The tour is part of the team's preparations for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup scheduled for September 4-13 in Berlin, where Nigeria has already secured a spot after qualifying through the Women’s AfroBasket.
