Experts Urge Compliance for Nigeria's E-Invoicing System

During the second edition of the Nigeria Revenue Summit held in Lagos, experts highlighted the necessity for Nigerian companies to comply with the upcoming e-invoicing system. Emma Okonji reported that Muyiwa Asagba, Managing Director of Interswitch, described the introduction of the e-invoicing system as a defining moment in Nigeria's economic digital transformation journey.

Asagba emphasized that this system not only represents a compliance requirement but also offers business opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and resilience. Chinomnso Nwachukwu, Chief Financial Officer of Interswitch, discussed the importance of real-time data integration for navigating regulatory changes and making strategic decisions.

Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, and Sundai Okeowo, Group Director of Policy Advisory, noted that the broader economic significance of Nigeria's tax reform presents critical opportunities to address socio-economic challenges such as inflation, unemployment, and poverty.
