NRS Sets February 2026 Deadline for E-Invoicing Compliance

The Nigerian Revenue Service (NRS) has announced a compliance deadline for the mandatory adoption of e-invoicing, set for February 17, 2026. Zacch Adedeji, the chairman of the NRS, signed a public notice informing large taxpayers that they need to complete onboarding and integration tests to commence invoice transmission on the NRS e-invoicing platform.

This initiative is part of a broader framework aimed at enhancing tax compliance among large taxpayers, specifically those with a gross turnover of N5 billion and above. The NRS has already begun monitoring compliance levels among these taxpayers, and failure to comply may result in regulatory enforcement actions as per relevant tax laws.

Dare Adekanmbi, a special advisor to the chairman, emphasized the urgency for taxpayers to conclude outstanding onboarding activities and ensure successful integration with the e-invoicing system. The NRS is committed to providing necessary support to facilitate the successful implementation of the national e-invoicing regime.
