FUOYE VC Urges Christians to Embrace Peace This Easter

Prof. Joshua Ogunwol, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Oye-Ekiti, called on Christians to emulate Jesus Christ by promoting reconciliation and peace during the Easter celebrations.

He highlighted the significance of Easter as a time for spiritual reflection and renewal, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion. Ogunwol extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community, wishing them peace and joyful celebrations.

He stressed that Christians should not view Easter merely as a festive occasion but as an opportunity to live out Christ's teachings. Ogunwol emphasized that the best way to celebrate Easter is to foster understanding and reconciliation, urging Christians to be agents of peace in their communities.

Dr. Sundai Saanu, the university's Director of Public Affairs, supported this message, noting the importance of mutual respect and unity among citizens of different faiths, especially in light of Nigeria's diverse religious landscape and ongoing social security challenges.
