Nigeria's NCDC Activates Rapid Response to Suspected Ebola Cases in Abuja

Nigeria's public health system is on high alert following two suspected cases of viral hemorrhagic fever in Abuja, which tested negative for Ebola and Marburg viruses. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) commended the swift response of clinicians and staff at Nisa Premier Hospital in Abuja for their vigilance and immediate reporting.

Dr. Jide Idris of NCDC highlighted the importance of early detection and collaboration with various stakeholders to minimize public health risks.

The NCDC activated a rapid coordinated response, demonstrating Nigeria's preparedness in handling potential disease outbreaks. Dynamic Risk Assessment measures have been implemented nationwide to enhance readiness.
