Nigeria on High Alert as Ebola Resurfaces, NCDC Implements Preventive Measures

Nigeria's Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) heightened Ebola alert following a confirmed case in the country amidst a new outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The NCDC issued a public health advisory, recalling the 2014 Ebola outbreak in Nigeria and the successful containment efforts.

The DRC reported 28 suspected Ebola cases with a 57% mortality rate, raising concerns over the disease's potential spread. Nigeria intensified preparedness measures, including infection control, border checks, and risk communication to prevent Ebola importation and transmission.

The DRC activated emergency operations to contain the outbreak, emphasizing regional health security collaboration.
