Ebonyi Government Launches Free Healthcare for Disabled

The Ebonyi Government has launched a free healthcare initiative for persons with disabilities, as announced by the State Commissioner for Health, Chief Moses Ikenna Ekuma. This announcement was made during the handover of accommodations to physically challenged individuals at Ugwuachara in Abakaliki, the state capital.

Chief Ekuma, represented by Dr Ezego Lawrence, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, stated that the government required the relocation of persons living with disabilities from the former Ebonyi State Health Management Board to the new facility. Additionally, he mentioned that the Presco Junction SHBM is being developed into a federal blood bank for the South-East geopolitical zone, with financial approval from Governor Francis Nwifuru for the project.

Mr. Nweze Kingsley, a leader of persons with disabilities, expressed gratitude for the government's support and the positive impact of these developments.
