ECOWAS Deploys Standby Force in Benin to Restore Order

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has deployed a standby force to Benin after soldiers announced the takeover of President Patric Talon's democratic government. Troops from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Cote d'Ivoire, and Ghana have been sent to Benin to help restore order.
