ECOWAS Standby Force Inspects Operational Readiness in Guinea

The ECOWAS Standby Force, under the leadership of Brigadier General Sheikh Sulaiman Massaquoi, commenced an operational readiness inspection in Conakry, Guinea. This inspection is part of a verification process to ensure the force's operational readiness.

The mission involved high-level consultations with key military officials, including Lieutenant General David Haba, Chief of General Staff of the Guinean Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Ibrahima Bangoura, Inspector General of the Guinean Armed Forces. The inspection team visited Kindia and evaluated various aspects such as personnel strength, command control arrangements, training, equipment, and logistical support.

The delegation received detailed briefings on training programs, including peace support operations and adherence to international humanitarian and human rights laws. Brigadier General Massaquoi emphasized the importance of the inspection in ensuring that the pledged forces remain deployable and capable of responding effectively to regional crises.

Lieutenant General Ibrahima Bangoura expressed gratitude for the professional assessment and confirmed Guinea's commitment to regional peace and security.
