Dalung Comments on Edun's Dismissal from Finance Role

Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, discussed the recent dismissal of Wale Edun from his role as Finance Minister, asserting that Edun's character and integrity did not align with President Bola Tinubu's political environment. Dalung indicated that Edun's exit was inevitable due to this misalignment.

He mentioned that Edun had submitted his resignation letter on his 70th birthday, citing health challenges, and had paid a farewell visit to Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. Dalung expressed that Edun's removal does not reflect a secure position within Tinubu's inner circle, as Edun was not closely associated with Tinubu.

He also revealed that their personal relationship had deteriorated, with Edun not returning calls after his inauguration. Additionally, Dalung commented on the political landscape, suggesting that the African Democratic Congress should adopt a transparent process to avoid injustices similar to those experienced in the All Progressives Congress.
