EFCC Hands Over N100m Recovered Funds, “Just a Tip of the Iceberg”

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently handed over a N100 million draft to the Federal Ministry of Solid Mineral Development in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. This recovery was made from a mining company in the state that had defaulted on royalty payments to the government.

The Uyo Zonal Director of EFCC, Assistant Commander Oshodi Johnson, presented the draft on behalf of the EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, during a ceremony on August 15, 2025. Olukoyede approved the release of the draft, commending the EFCC's diligence and dedication in recovering funds.

The EFCC emphasized the importance of collaboration, citing a previous case where they recovered funds from a Nigerian fraudster in cooperation with the Spanish Ambassador. The EFCC reiterated its commitment to fighting corruption despite any obstacles encountered.
