EFCC Hands Over N100m To FG, Recovers Rifle, Cartridges in Benin Raid

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) handed over a draft of N100 million to the Federal Government after recovering the funds from a defaulting mining company in Akwa Ibom State. The presentation was made by EFCC ACE Oshodi Johnson on behalf of the agency chairman Ola Olukoyede to the Federal Mines Officer in charge of Akwa Ibom, Mr.

Emmanuel Effiong Bassey. The recovered funds were royalties that the company failed to remit to the government.

Johnson emphasized the EFCC's commitment to transparency, accountability, and asset recovery. In a separate raid in Benin, the EFCC arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters and recovered a rifle, live cartridges, vehicles, mobile phones, and laptops.

The suspects will be charged in court after the investigation is concluded. The EFCC expressed the importance of cooperation between government agencies to combat economic crimes effectively.
