EFCC Invites Ihedioha As Tambuwal Spends Night In Detention

The EFCC has invited former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha for questioning, following the detention of Senator Tambuwal over alleged fraudulent cash withdrawals amounting to billions of naira. Tambuwal was taken into custody on Monday after honoring the commission's invitation.

Sources revealed that Ihedioha is expected to appear before the EFCC within a week. The former governor's issues reportedly began four months ago, with a close source linking the problem to a communication with President Bola Tinubu.

Tambuwal received a letter from the EFCC on July 18th, requesting his presence for an inquiry. Despite meeting bail conditions, Tambuwal spent the night in detention as the commission decided to keep him in custody.

The EFCC has also requested the release of certain state government officials for questioning on August 11, 2025.
