EFCC Raids Abuja Fraud Academy, Arrests 31 Suspects

On Thursday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided a suspected internet fraud academy, referred to as a "Yahoo school," located in Abuja. This operation resulted in the arrest of 31 suspects, which included two alleged kingpins and several trainees involved in internet fraud activities.

The EFCC recovered various items during the raid, including 18 laptops and multiple mobile devices. The trainees were reportedly lured from Benue State with promises of job opportunities and were being trained in cyber fraud techniques.

The suspects are currently confined within the facility, with restrictions on their movement and communication to prevent outside contact. The EFCC has indicated that the suspects will face charges in court as investigations continue.

The commission is also addressing compliance issues and the treatment of the suspects within the facility.
