CNTJ Urges EFCC to Release $4 Billion Refinery Fraud Probe Report

Concerned Nigerians for Transparency and Justice (CNTJ) have urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release an interim report on the alleged $4 billion refinery fraud probe involving the immediate past NNPC leadership under Mele Kyari. The CNTJ emphasized the need for transparency in the investigation, highlighting the importance of Nigerians being informed about the progress and funds recovered.

The group commended the EFCC for questioning former CEO Mele Kyari and engaging with suspected parties. Additionally, the Coalition for Accountability of Public Resources (CAPR) called for the recovery of the complete $4 billion allegedly mismanaged by the former NNPC boss.

The urgency for transparency in the midst of economic challenges was underscored by civil society coalitions.
