EFCC Yet to Receive Court Order Granting Bail to Malami – Lead Counsel Reveals

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not received a court order granting bail to former Attorney General of the Federation, Malami, as stated by lead counsel Jibrin Samuel Okutepa. Despite rumors of Malami's release, Okutepa clarified that neither EFCC nor their law firm has received such a directive.

Malami's legal team filed a bail application at the FCT High Court in Nyanya after he was allegedly detained unlawfully for 14 days. Justice Babaginda Hassan dismissed the request, citing the legality of the detention.

Okutepa criticized the court process, highlighting the need for proper notification and review of existing rules before granting bail ex parte.
