EFCC’s case against Atiku’s son-in-law is vendetta, not justice – Group declares

A coalition group has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its case against Bashir Haske, the son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar, as a politically motivated vendetta rather than a pursuit of justice. The group accused the EFCC of acting beyond its mandate by trying to use Interpol to enforce what they termed a "medium of trial." Haske has reportedly cooperated with investigators, and the coalition urged the media to hold government institutions accountable for deviating from their mandates.

The group warned that the EFCC's actions risk eroding public trust in Nigeria's institutions and called on Interpol to distance itself from the EFCC's request. The coalition emphasized that the pursuit of Haske appears to be driven by personal and political agendas rather than evidence of financial wrongdoing, and urged Nigerians to reject what they described as selective justice.
