The CEO of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), Rekhiat Momoh, highlighted concerns about electricity theft by high-income residents and major hotels, leading to financial and operational challenges in Nigeria's power sector. Momoh disclosed this during a PwC power roundtable in Lagos, emphasizing the negative impact of illegal connections on the power system.

EKEDC is currently serving 789,000 customers and is implementing strategies to improve commercial efficiency and revenue generation in the short, medium, and long term.
