EKEDC Downgrades Customers, Reduces Daily Power Supply in Lagos

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has downgraded customers from Band A to E, resulting in reduced daily power supply to several feeder areas in Lagos. The move guarantees a minimum of 20 hours of electricity daily for lower service bands under the Service-Based Tariff (SBT) regime introduced by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in 2020.

Despite consumer complaints, EKEDC reported improved revenue collection efficiency in the third quarter of 2025. However, challenges in service delivery persist across various parts of Lagos, including Ep Surulere, Lekki, and Ibeju-Lekki.
