Ekiti 2026: Otunba Fayose Alleges Threat To Life

Ekiti State PDP governorship aspirant Otunba Emmanuel Fayose has raised concerns over threats to his life ahead of the 2026 elections. Fayose received anonymous messages warning him to abandon his ambition, suspecting political actors within or outside the party to be behind the threats.

He emphasized his rising profile as a rallying point for the opposition in Ekiti State, urging the federal government to provide security protection. Fayose pointed fingers at Governor Biodun Oyebanji and former Governor Ayodele Fayose's elder brother for any harm that may come to him.

He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and the Inspector General of Police to take the threats seriously and ensure his safety. Fayose highlighted his commitment to democracy and urged support from Nigerians and the international community in defending freedom of choice and democracy in Ekiti State.
