‘I Receive Strange Texts And Calls’ – Fayose Alleges Threat To Life

Former Ekiti State Governor, Fayose, has alleged receiving threatening texts and calls, prompting concerns for his safety as he eyes the 2026 governorship race. In a statement by his media director, Wasiu Adejumo, Fayose suggested that certain political actors, possibly from within or outside the PDP, may be behind the threats to silence him ahead of the election.

He emphasized that his increasing influence in Ekiti State could be a factor in the intimidation. Fayose called on the federal government's security agencies, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and the Inspector General of Police, to provide him with urgent security protection.

He also urged Nigerians and the international community to support Ekiti people in defending democracy and freedom of choice against such political intimidation.
