Ekiti Assembly Confirms Apata and Oyebode as Commissioners

On Wednesday, the Ekiti State House of Assembly screened and confirmed two commissioner-nominees presented by Governor Biodun Oyebanji. The confirmed nominees are Mr Dayo Apata (SAN), Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mr Akintunde Oyebode, Commissioner for Finance.
The House rescheduled the screening of the third nominee, Dr Oyebanji Filani (Health and Human Services), to Monday, May 2, upon his request. The Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Babatunde Oke, stated that the nominees were well-known to the members due to their previous service.
Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye praised their past performances and urged members to allow them to "take a bow and go," which was unanimously agreed upon. Additionally, the Assembly approved the governor's request for the appointment of 10 Special Advisers to enhance governance across key sectors.
Oyebanji emphasized that these appointments aim to ensure continuity in critical governance areas.
