APC Disqualifies Popular Aspirant in Ekiti Governorship Race - Internal Conflict Resolved

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified a popular aspirant from contesting the 2026 governorship primary in Ekiti State. The decision, made during the 179th meeting of the APC National Working Committee, saw Hon Olajumoke Olawunmi removed from the race, leaving two remaining aspirants.

The disqualified candidate failed to meet the constitutional and electoral requirements set by the party. Additionally, the NWC announced the dissolution of the State Executive Committee in Enugu State due to internal conflicts.

A new caretaker committee was inaugurated to ensure progress, peace, and stability within the party. The move aims to streamline the party's processes and maintain internal harmony ahead of the upcoming primary.
