Female APC Aspirant Seeks Court Nullification of Governor's Endorsement in Ekiti Guber Race

A female APC aspirant in Ekiti State, Abimbola Olawumi, has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking the nullification of the endorsement of Governor Biodun Oyebanji by the APC for the 2026 governorship election. Olawumi's legal team filed a suit challenging the party's primary process, alleging that Oyebanji's endorsement was unlawful and unconstitutional.

She also sought an injunction to restrain the APC from excluding her from participating in the primary election pending the determination of the suit. The aspirant claimed she was unlawfully disqualified during the screening exercise without proper compliance with electoral laws and party guidelines.
