Oluyede Critiques BVAS Failure in Ekiti Elections

Dr. Wole Oluyede, the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, expressed strong dissatisfaction with the electoral process following the failure of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) during the voting exercise.

The incident occurred at Poll Unit 6, Ward 3, Osagburu Family Hall, where the BVAS malfunctioned, leading to a delay in voter accreditation that lasted several hours. Voting commenced at 8:30 AM, but the technical issues hindered the process significantly.

Oluyede noted that this was not the first occurrence of such failures, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in the electoral process. He described the situation as undemocratic and unacceptable, highlighting concerns over alleged intimidation at various polling units.

Despite the challenges, Oluyede successfully cast his vote and remained in the polling area to support his constituents.
