Ekiti roads: FERMA explains challenges, assures citizens of progress

The Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in Ekiti State, Engr. Simon Adeniran Adeniyi, has addressed the challenges hindering the maintenance of federal roads in the state.

Adeniyi cited the rainy season as a major obstacle to carrying out meaningful road work. He explained that while FERMA is responsible for maintaining existing roads, the Federal Ministry of Works handles reconstruction and major rehabilitation projects.

Adeniyi assured citizens that the Federal Government is working diligently to address road issues despite the weather challenges. He mentioned ongoing construction and rehabilitation projects on several federal roads in Ekiti State.

Adeniyi emphasized the funding issues faced by contractors, which are impeding project progress. FERMA is committed to ensuring that contractors are paid for completed work and maintaining roads.
