Sacked Aide of Governor Okpebholo Remains in Police Custody Amid Criticism

Hon. Collin Aigbogun, a former aide to Governor Okpebholo, is still detained by the police in Ekpoma, 13 days after his arrest during an anti-kidnap protest.

The arrest, without formal charges, has drawn criticism from local society groups and human rights advocates. Governor Okpebholo claims the arrest is linked to probing Aigbogun's involvement in the protest.

Marxist Kola Edokpayi has accused security agencies of violating Aigbogun's rights and called for his immediate release.
