DSS Arrests Security Agents Over Bribery Linked to El-Rufai

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested five security personnel, including officers from the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Immigration Service, and Aviation Security, over alleged bribery linked to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. The arrests occurred following an investigation into claims that the officers received bribes to facilitate unauthorized entry into restricted areas and obstruct law enforcement operations.

The detainees include Ayuba Yakubu (Police), Murtala Inuwa (DSS), Najeeb Murtala (Immigration), Musa Adamu (Aviation Security), and Salihu Victor (Aviation Security). They are currently held at DSS headquarters and may face administrative sanctions.

El-Rufai, who was previously targeted for arrest upon his return from Egypt on February 12, is contesting the legality of his arrest and the search of his residence by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). The ICPC has not yet commented on the matter, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the government's handling of the case, emphasizing the need for justice to be applied equally.
