Atiku Abubakar Launches 2027 Campaign Council Structure

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has formed a National Campaign Council and Presidential Campaign Management Committee for his 2027 presidential campaign. The council is chaired by Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, with former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai serving as Deputy Chairman and Austin Akobundu as Director General.

Other notable appointments include Dele Momodu as Deputy Director of Media and Publicity and Kenneth Okonkwo as a Spokesperson. The campaign structure is designed to reflect Nigeria's economic challenges, emphasizing competence and accountability over political patronage.

Akobundu, a serving senator and retired Colonel, will manage day-to-day operations, ensuring coordination and discipline. The campaign is organized into six operational directorates, each led by a Deputy Director-General, with a total of 30 directors assigned specific responsibilities to minimize duplication and bureaucracy.

The campaign's approach is intended to demonstrate fiscal discipline in light of the economic realities facing Nigerians.
