Peter Obi Demands Urgent Electoral Reforms Ahead of 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate, reiterated the call for urgent electoral reforms in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections. In a statement released on Tuesday, Obi emphasized the importance of electoral integrity and called for measures such as the transmission of election results electronically in real-time to protect the people's mandate.

He criticized recent statements by President of the Senate, Godswil Akpabio, regarding network coverage issues affecting certain states during elections. Obi insisted on the need for aspiring public officials to provide verifiable records of their education and qualifications as part of electoral reforms.

He urged the youth to remain steadfast in demanding electoral reforms for a new and better Nigeria.
