APC Critiques Rhodes-Vivour's ADC Governorship Ticket

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2027 governorship ticket of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Babatunde Gbadamosi, calling it a political experiment. In a statement by Publicity Secretary Seye Oladejo, the APC expressed concerns regarding the candidates' lack of experience in managing the state's bureaucracy, finances, and infrastructure.

Oladejo questioned their executive experience and criticized their history of switching political parties, stating that while political evolution is acceptable, party-hopping does not contribute to political institution-building. He highlighted the complexity of Lagos's economy and urban management challenges, asking for evidence of their capability in managing state bureaucracy or budgets.

Although he acknowledged Rhodes-Vivour's second-place finish in the 2023 Lagos governorship election with 312,329 votes against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s 762,134 votes, he maintained that electoral performance does not equate to administrative capacity. The APC welcomed the ADC ticket but cautioned against confusing electoral ambition with governing capacity.
