New Power Minister Promises Visible Improvements in Supply

Joseph Tegbe, recently sworn in as the Minister of Power, pledged to improve electricity supply in Nigeria, stating that citizens will soon see visible enhancements. He attributed these improvements to significant investments made by President Bola Tinubu's administration over the past three years.

Tegbe noted the difficulties faced by the power sector but emphasized the government's commitment to delivering better services and ensuring vulnerable Nigerians are not neglected. He clarified that while he cannot promise 24-hour electricity, there will be noticeable improvements.

Tegbe highlighted recent achievements, including the quick restoration of a feeder station in Katampe, Abuja, by TCN personnel within 24 hours of a fault. He also mentioned the revival of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company and confirmed that the Ministry of Power is actively engaging stakeholders across the electricity value chain, including TCN, REA, and NERC, to ensure consistent and sustainable improvements in electricity supply.
