Nigeria's Counter-Terrorism Strategy Proven Effective

The Coalition for Peace and Democracy, represented by Dr. Mose Okella, announced that the elimination of ISIS Commander Abu Bilal Al-Minuki is evidence of Nigeria's effective counter-terrorism strategy.

During a press conference in Abuja, Okella highlighted the operation's success, which involved sophisticated intelligence coordination by the Nigerian Armed Forces, led by Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede. He criticized international media for downplaying Nigeria's role in the operation, asserting that it was driven by Nigerian intelligence and local operational plans.

The operation aimed to disrupt the command structure of ISIS in Africa and weaken terrorist recruitment networks. Okella praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his political support and emphasized the importance of credible intelligence sharing among security agencies.

He urged the public to support the military and warned against narratives that could demoralize troops. The operation signifies a major victory in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Nigeria and the Lake Chad region.
