Nigeria's Military Achieves Major Victory Against ISWAP

Abdul Moham Isa, the former Director of Army Public Relations, commended the killing of Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki, the second-in-command of the Islamic State's global command and a key figure in the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). This operation is viewed as an extraordinary milestone in Nigeria's counter-terrorism efforts, particularly in the Lake Chad Basin region.

The joint military operation involved the Nigerian Armed Forces and the United States military, culminating from meticulous intelligence gathering and surveillance. The operation took place in Borno State, under the framework of the Hadin Kai joint task force in North East Nigeria, with no casualties reported on the Nigerian side.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu acknowledged the value of international collaboration in security efforts. General Usman urged continued vigilance and support for security operations in the region, emphasizing the need for sustained efforts against insurgency, which has claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions across North East Nigeria.
