Tony Elumelu Champions $15 Billion West Africa Investment Drive

Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings, is backing a $15 billion infrastructure investment initiative across West Africa. This effort aims to transform economic integration ambitions into viable investments and will be showcased at the inaugural West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS) in Sierra Leone on November 17 and 18.

Elumelu, who co-chairs the summit, revealed that 26 projects worth over $10 billion have been shortlisted from 170 submissions across more than 10 countries. The initiative seeks to attract potential financiers, including United Bank for Africa, African Export-Import Bank, Africa Finance Corporation, and Africa50.

Priority sectors include energy, trade, industrialization, strategic minerals, agriculture, and digital infrastructure. The investment drive focuses on connecting viable proposals with financing institutions while aligning commercial opportunities with national and regional priorities.

The summit is convened by Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, and aims to advance strategic regional investments.
