Emulate good deeds of past leaders – Showunmi advises, holds 40-day prayer for Buhari

Otunba Segun Showunmi, the convener of an alternative pan-Nigerian movement, urged political leaders to emulate the good deeds of past leaders and avoid negative actions. Showunmi made these remarks during a 40-day prayer held in Abeokuta, Ogun state, for the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The prayer, attended by hundreds, honored Buhari's simple and disciplined life, emphasizing the importance of leaders living morally as people are always watching. Showunmi encouraged future leaders to follow Buhari's sacrificial and disciplined lifestyle.

The prayer, led by Chief Imam Keesi in Abeokuta, emphasized the need for Nigerians to emulate the late president's good deeds and live in fear of God. Muhammad Adekolu, a guest lecturer, highlighted Buhari's fear of God and his modesty while in office.

The event aimed to inspire future leaders to lead with integrity and humility.
