Obidient Movement Condemns Violence Against NDC in Delta

The Obidient Movement, led by National Coordinator Yunusa Tanko, condemned the attack on members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) during a One Million Man March in Warri, Delta State. The incident, which occurred on Friday, is seen as part of a troubling trend of political violence against opposition supporters.

Tanko called for security agencies to take action against such intimidation as the 2027 elections approach. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the NDC candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, also demanded an investigation by the police and the Department of State Services, alleging that the violence was a coordinated effort to disrupt the opposition's campaigning rights.

The march was initially set to start at Angle Park but was disrupted, leading participants to relocate to the Total filling station area, where they faced further attacks. Tanko emphasized the need for peaceful campaigning and vowed to defend the rights of Nigerians to assemble and support their chosen candidates.
