Obidient Movement's Tanko Condemns Political Violence

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the leader of the Obidient Movement, made a statement regarding the recent attack on members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) during the One Million Man March in Warri, Delta State, on September 18, 2026. He referenced allegations made by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the NDC candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, who claimed that armed men attacked his convoy, resulting in injuries to six NDC members.

Tanko declared that the Obidient Movement would no longer allow political thugs to assault Nigerians during the campaign season and on election day. He emphasized that Obidients and all Nigerians have a constitutional right to campaign and support their chosen candidates, asserting that they would defend these rights through lawful means, including self-defense.

Tanko urged security agencies to maintain peace and order and to arrest individuals involved in criminal activities and violence.
