Enekwechi Sponsors N950,000 for Men's Shot Put Event

Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, a two-time Olympian, African champion, and African record holder, has committed N950,000 in prize money for the men's shot put event at the Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet, taking place on November 7, 2026, at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex in Lagos. The prize distribution includes N400,000 for first place, N300,000 for second, N150,000 for third, and N100,000 for fourth.

Enekwechi expressed that this sponsorship stems from his love for his country and sport, aiming to inspire young athletes. Ese Oguma, the chief executive officer of Athletic Heat, praised Enekwechi's contribution, noting the unprecedented nature of such support for field athletes in Nigeria.

This initiative is designed to motivate competitors and increase the visibility of field events, which are often overshadowed by track disciplines. Enekwechi encouraged athletes to register through A3Tickets and wished them success at the meet.
